La semana pasada se dieron a conocer los nominados a la 52 edición de los CMA, que se entregarán en una ceremonia presentada por Carrie Underwood y Brad Paisley el 14 de Noviembre en Nashville.
Este año destaca en la categoría principal (Entertainer of the Year) la ausencia de intérpretes femeninas y de Garth Brooks, uno de los claros nominadores de las últimas ediciones.

Anoche se entregaron los 51th CMA Awards, y por segundo año consecutivo (y sexta vez en su carrera) el premio principal (Entertainer of the Year) recayó en Garth Brooks.

Hoy es Labor Day en EEUU y la CMA ha anunciado en Good Morning America de ABC y Facebook Live las candidatos a sus próximos premios que se entregarán el 8 de noviembre en Nashville en una gala que volverá a ser presentada por Brad Paisley y Carrie Underwood.
Destaca la ausencia de candidatas a Entertainer of the Year, lo que contrasta con el hecho de que quien más candidaturas acumula es Miranda Lambert. También llama la atención la grata sorpresa de la presencia de Reba, la ausencia de Brad Paisley y Midland, el regreso (como autora) de Taylor Swift o las escasas nominaciones de Luke Combs.

En su último álbum Lemonade la tejana Beyoncé sorprendía con un tema country. Durante su última gira las Dixie Chicks se atrevieron a versionarlo.
Horas antes de los últimos CMA se filtró que la diva de Texas iba actuar en la ceremonia, pero lo que más sorprendió fue que la acompañaron sobre el escenario del Bridgestone Arena las Dixie Chicks en su regreso a los premios tras más de una década.
La 50 Edición de los CMA Awards prometía estar cargada de nostalgia y sorpresas y no defraudó.
El premio principal de la noche recayó en Garth Brooks, que con el de anoche suma 5 premios «Entertainer of the Year». El premio se lo entregó Taylor Swift tras un emotivo discurso de la cantante.
La presentadora de la ceremonia, Carrie Underwood, se hizo con el Vocalista Femenina del Año, y Chris Stapleton con el masculino, que también ganó el de mejor vídeo.
El mejor grupo del año volvió a recaer en Little Big Town mientras que Brothers Osborne dieron una de las campanadas de la noche al ganar el premio al mejor Duo, está pareja podremos verla en el C2C de Londres en marzo.
Maren Morris tuvo una de las actuaciones más destacadas de la noche con My Church y se alzó con el premio Revelación, que recogió muy emocionada. Como emocionada recogió Lori McKenna su premio por Humble and Kind que recogió junto al intérprete de la canción Tim McGraw.
Uno de los favoritos de la noche era Eric Church que ganó el de álbum del año por Mr. Misunderstood, mientras Dierks Bentley ganó junto a Elle King el «Musical Event of the Year» en un premio entregado por la mañana. Thomas Rhett de llevo el premio al «Single» del año por Die a Happy Men. El guitarrista Dann Huff es el músico del año.
En una Ceremonia, que analizaremos en unos días, marcada por la combinación de actuaciones de grandes clásicos como Charlie Daniels, o Alabama con jóvenes promesas como Maren Morris, varios momentos grandes momentos han centrado la atención.

Durante el número inicial con grandes artistas de todos los tiempos, Randy Travis participó tras sus problemas de salud, emocionando a gran parte de los presentes.
Dolly Parton recibió el premio Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement presentado por su amiga Lily Tomlin y rodeada de grandes estrellas como Kacey Musgraves, Reba o Jennifer Nettles.
Horas antes de la ceremonia el rumor era la actuación de Beyoncé, lo que no se sabía era que la verdadera noticia iban a ser sus acompañantes en el escenario, las Dixie Chicks que volvían a la gala tras más de una década alejadas de los escenarios americanos. Interpretaron Daddy Lessons, canción de Beyoncé que las tejanas habían versionado en su reciente gira americana.
