El principal premio de los 52 CMA Awards entregados anoche en Nashville se lo llevo Keith Urban que ganó el Entertainer of the Year por segunda vez, tras el conquistado en 2005.

Por número de premios el gran triunfador fue Chris Stapleton con 3 premios, uniendo mejor single y mejor canción con «Broken Halos» y mejor vocalista masculino. Tanto Chris como Keith estarán en el C2C 2019.

Cuando se conocieron las nominaciones generó polémica la poca cantidad de candidatas femeninas fuera de mejor Solista Fémina del Año. Pues en mejor álbum la única candidata, Kacey Musgraves, ha dado la sorpresa ganando el Mejor Álbum con «Golden Hour«, con su álbum más ecléctico.

Brothers Osborne repiten ganando por tercer año consecutivo mejor duo, mientras Old Dominion rompen la hegemonía de Little Big Town en Mejor Grupo.

Carrie Underwood, que presento la gala junto a Brad Paisley, se llevo mejor Vocalista Fémina. Kenny Chesney y David Lee Murphy el mejor Evento, Luke Combs mejor artista nuevo y Thomas Rhett mejor vídeo.

A destacar el absoluto dominio de Mac McAnally, el guitarrista que lleva 8 años consecutivo ganando el premio al mejor músico.
